I am working with a outfit to make stainless steel door sill plates for the Speedsters. They are secured with 3M double side tape. Great item to save the paint from getting scuffed up. They also look great! There are two styles . One sill plate will have a Porsche crest centered on it which is the picture below . The other style will have "Speedster" etched in the center. The crested sill plate is $67.00 plus shipping. The other still working on the price.Email me if any one is interested. I going to bring a few to Carlisle in May.

Joe, Please put me done for a set. Thanks for your efforts, They look great.
I'm definitely interested. The build in Carlisle would be the perfect time to add those to my new Speedster!
I'll post pictures of the custom etched sill plates once the are completed. Most likely they will be for the custom wide body cars. Please email me for your order and include the shipping address. If you want to wait for Carlisle please let me know. I make sure I bring enough.
Joe, if they will fit standard body Speedsters I'd like a set for my Beck. I think I'd prefer the Speedster script to the Porsche logo. See you at Carlisle!

OH BOY! I'm in for a set with the crest. Do you have the length/width measurements on it? Wondering if they'll fit the '55 coupe?
PLEASE lemme know,

I would love to see a photo of the sills in place on a speedy!
I should have some pictures soon. The length for the scripted Speedster sill plate is 32" long. There won't be ant clearance issues with the door and the sill plate. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Would you send a set to Spain? Can you figure out the shipping price for me (it is mainland Spain)? Can I pay using Paypal. If yes I'm in for a set of the Speedster etched type.
Thanks
Thanks
Status- Working on the fit-up issues since the sill area has a tapper to it. Please don't email me with orders yet. I'll make an announcement here when everything is set and ready to roll. Please be patient. Thanks, Joe

Joe, I was thinking about your plates on my flared CMC.
Sit Down, I have a GREAT idea. instead of tape, place 2 tapered holes on each side, and use stainless steel bolts to secure it. This would give it that little extra touch.

I need some measurements of the sill plates from these replica Speedsters:
IM
JPS
Vintage
Beck
I need the front width area and the rear width area. The CMC has a tapered sill plate area. Also need the know the height of the outside radius lip. See attached drawing for details.
Thanks,

Calling Carey Hines! Calling Carey Hines! Any chance you could get the numbers to Joe since I don't have the car yet??
Joe/Lane,
I will take some measurements this morning and send the numbers. I will also send some photos of what the plate would have to be in order to replace the stock sill plates. Hard to explain in words, but you'll see in the photos. Our stock plates continue forward to the base of the A pilar and are shaped for the car. A more complex shape than what I saw pictured, but not hard to do with a pattern. They are fastened at both ends, and the new plate would have to cover the same area or holes would show.
BTW, The stock plates are put on before the doors are hung... You can get to the fasteners with a very agile angle drill to remove them, but it is a PITA to put them back on with the doors in the way. I just pull the doors...

I have not received any dimensions from Speedster replica's other than CMC's. I will be talking to Cary ( Beck's) today for the their dimensions.
I will move forward only having the CMC sill plates made. If I get helpful info on the other manufacturer's dimensions I'll proceed with them also. Just to let you know- The only thing I'm getting out of being the middle man for theses sill plates is two sets and covering shipping and packaging cost. I thought the sill plates would be a nice touch for our Speedsters and also add a little paint protection. My contacts main line is Boxter's,911's and 944's.

Joe,
Please add me to the list for a set that say "speedster" on them for a CMC widebody. Just let me know where to send funds. Looks like I will not be able to make Carlisle so I will need to have them shipped to Florida.
Thanks,
Jim
