I am thinking of buying a set of the Stark 16 X 6 and 16 X 7 wheels and new tires to replace the 15 X 6, 15 X 7 fuchs wheels I currently have. I like the look of the polished wheels but am not sure I will like them once on the car. Does anyone know what the back spacing for a 15 X 7 Fuchs wheel is ? The Stark wheels offered by tire rack have 4.88" back spacing. There is the weight issue as well. I have real Fuchs wheels know and am not sure of what they weigh , the stark wheels weigh 20 and 21 LBS. What do you guys think? My other choice is sending my wheels off this winter and having them reconditioned and polished.

15x6's, regular production (non R)15x7's, 16x6's and 911 numbered 16x7's all have 112 mm (4.4") backspacing so the difference- not quite 1/2"- and since some people measure backspacing from the outside instead of the inside of the wheel lip so they may be exactly the same- from the Stark wheels is minimal and I don't think will cause any problems. The Stark wheels are heavier, though- a 15x6 Fuchs weighs a tad over 12 pounds, a 15x7 is just over 13, and oe 16x6's and 16x7's 1-1/4 pounds over the same width 15" wheels. I was of the understanding (don't know why) that the Stark wheels were good quality and not that heavy- could those be shipping weights?
Going to 16" wheels does open up a whole realm of possibilities in sizes and manufacturers (and summer treads and compounds!) so I understand the attraction. With the right deal real Fuchs are available for not a lot more money- you may have to watch online, frequent the local VW shows and develop contacts in the local VW and Porsche crowds. It's surprising what turns up if you're at the right place at the right time.

The Stark wheels are 16 X 7 and 16 X 8. I was incorrect in my first post. The actual weight of the wheels is 20 and 21lbs as shown on the Tire rack website, which is almost double the weight of the wheels I am running now so that makes this far less attractive. I may just wait and have my wheels reconditioned this winter. Thanks for the input.

i think chrome is. Ice but the petals shiny with black is what prefer Rich just had his done black but anodized rim edge

FWIW, I think your current (real) 5x130 Fuchs look good on your car and aside from less weight (always a good thing) adds to a more 'outlaw' look to a flared-fender Speedster. If you're looking for something a little different to change up your car's look, might I suggest to have some 5x130, 16" wheels widened to 7 & 8", add a chrome trim-ring to the outer portion of the wheel, color match the inner portion of the wheel to your car color and insert chrome nipple hub caps. There is an SOCer (Carrozini) on here with that approach (minus chrome trim ring) on his white flared fender.
I'm guessing that stripping and polishing the Fuchs could be around $200 per wheel.
I think whatever you do with wheels, your car will always look bad-a$$!
