Hi Theron.
I guess I never really noticed, because I have never removed a body from a pan, but it's news to me that the frame is welded to the pan, I thought they were just bolted to the pan.  If that is the case, how does anyone ever remove a body from a Vintage pan?

Not even VW welded the body to the pan.  My '89 CMC has massive steel frame (bolted on) like the Vintage which they say they engineered in 1988. I think its just advertising hype.

You'd think they update their web site which says:

How many Vintage Speedsters have been built?

As of Aug 2008, we hand built over 2500 Speedsters. We produce in our own facilities, more cars in one week, than some so-called manufacturers do in a year.

Why not update it and take credit for the 5 years since 2008?

They should take that statement out. It lends to an interpretation of less attention to detail.
