I think I posted earlier about wanting to extend my steering shaft. I can't find it with a search.

I used an approach suggested by Allan.

I had two upper coupler flanges welded end to end and will use a second rubber coupler disk.

To get the amount of extension I wanted they cut 1" off the end of each flange piece. I found some steel tubing that was a pretty good fit over the coupler shafts. The coupler flange shafts were slipped into the tube and then it was welded all around. With the second rubber disk I will get about a 3" extension.
