Hello,
Getting in and out is not a problem, seats are low, at least on my CMC setup. I got the flat 390mm Nardi, with the matching Nardi Hub for my '71 column, it looks and feels great. Again, I agree that there are many different opinions and likings are out there, but this one does it for me... - good luck - jJ

The biggest wheel that you can fit behind and the flattest wheel that you can find . . . unless you're serious about using a '71 column. Now you have to consider the angled blinker switch arm which is going to demand a longer adapter and/or a dished wheel in order to keep your knuckles from rapping , and eventually breaking, the arm arm and mechanism. especially during "spirited" driving.

Look around for a '71 Bus blinker quadrant, looks old style like the early '60s Beetles, but still has the built in high beam flash function, and will wire up like the '71 Beetle. Great looks and high function.

Then go stock 356 wheel and Porsche crest/Golden Lady crest horn button, or banjo style wheel, paint the column and blinker set-up a nice ivory and you'll never look back.

Which you should never do in a Speedster anyway . . . there's way too much fun up ahead.

:)
