Horn Button Custom maker... Hi I have a Nardi replica wheel (pict below) and it has a Momo 6 allenkey horn button... I really like the Porsche Large Horn Button and wondering if anyone knew someone that could make one.... I want to customize it and instead of having the P crest have an IM crest.... so think of an IM hood crest in the center of that  black shiny stuff.... and of course I want the button to be large and to hide the 6 allen heads.

Any suggestions of who might be able to do this without changing my whole wheel?

OK, so this is a long shot, but you might try TC (he used to haunt this site, but got over it and migrated elsewhere).

You would have to supply the desired hood emblem, but he could do the rest (if he's interested).

his email is:  dezynr@comcast.net

But now that I think of it, why haven't you contacted Henry at IM??????

I'm sure they do this stuff all the time.

Normally, to do what I am asking the wheel needs to be exhanged for one that is made to handle the specified button... At least that is what I have been told...

Sierra Madre normally has a Momo button that covers the wheel allen heads... like this pict. .... not sure how it is afixed or if it can be bought in all aluminum ...

IMs often  use a unique hub/blinker assembly, so my suggestion may not work... But here are some thoughts... If your lucky and you have the Porsche/VW blinker assembly, so you could try the following...

... to get the look of Anands old Mike lempert wheel ( the first picture in your post) and cLassico Wheels hub/horn ring assembly.

1) you will have to change the hub, ISP sells the hub/horn retainer ring assembly for 75$ if I remember correctly...  You just need to know what shaft you have. The link attached is Just one of the several spline sizes they carry... Anands wheel above uses a Classico wheel hub/horn ring... Several hundred dollars for the same ISP look.  I compared both side by side and returned the Classico Wheel set up... They looked identical, and the ISP parts were 1/4 the prIce. Attached is ISP set up hub/ horn ring...

second link has better description and has 13 pictures/multiple angles, and list the multiple size hubs/splines they carry...  They bundle the hub /horn ring with a wheel.  I would propose you call them for any Qs.

2) If you don't want to change the hub, you can try  getting a bolt patter adaptor, but would still need to reach out to ISP to see if the would sell you the horn button ring with long head allen hub bolts and the ring screws independent of the hub. ( refer nice bellow picture for details) and do a little simple customization to make the two parts fit together.

sample adaptor-- 6 bolt Nardi/Momo to 9 bolt-

3) the horn button is the standard flat 4 or Porsche size - 82mm if I remember correctly.   You could get a black flat 4 horn button, and have IM provide you the logo/ silk screen or decal.  They may even already stock a custom logo 82mm size horn. ISP carries many flat 4 horn buttons ( black, Ivory, and several traditional models).

4) the bolt pattern on the pictured horn retainer ring you like is a 9 bolt, not 6 Momo/Nardi.   A great looking and cheap flat Nardi style wheel could work..see attached link.... Tons in this forum on more expensive alternatives -- query search function---  All the way up to Lempert wheels... Pieces of art in my opinion  ( Lempert made the one pictured above with the Porsche horn buttom,)

Hope this helps,

Cheers, Luis

here is an old picture of my ISP 9 bolt hub/horn ring set up  -- buttom wheel--   ( same as the ISP links I provided in section 1) and my old wheel from ISP....

Pictured -- top wheel-- is a Mike lempert wheel with Nardi 6 bolt patern hub and 6 bolt horn ring from JPS.  I now have a 9 bolt Mike lempert wheel installed on the ISP hub/ horn ring. ( sorry, I don't have a picture handy)

Another old pic of the ISP horn ring-- sorry for the messy gauges... I was in the process of swaping out last yr... Thus the mix of repo and original
