Stock fuel injected engines? | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

I'm seriously considering a 550 spyder. My only concern is the engine, because most people seem to have carburated ones. With all due respect, I'd never ever consider a carburated engine anymore. Now, I believe I've seen fuel injected beatles years ago, made in Mexico, I believe. Could anybody give me a hint on which model years to look after, please?. I've also checked CB and they offer an EFI kit (they even have a model with both throttle body and multipoint). Has anybody install them?

There are a couple of guys who have fuel injection on SpeedsterOwners.com, they would be able to tell you the pros and cons of each config. Try posting the same question in that forum.
