The May edition of Hot VW's has an article on two of the new "stock style" cases that have been designed to accomodate longer piston strokes and the stressea axxociated with large displacement.

The article appears on page 68 and 69 of Hot VW's May edition. The title of the article is: "Raising The Roof, A Look At Two New Stock Style High Performance Engine Cases".

The two manufacturers featured in the article ar CB Performance and BugPack Products.

Precision Alloy (todd Francis) has had their TF-1 aluminum case available for a couple of years - among other things it features through-bolts for the case halves like type 4 and 911 engine cases, is also standarrd clearanced for 86mm cranks, and uses stock VW engine cooling tin, etc.
