STOLEN CAR

please help.....my speedster was stolen on tuesday 25th from london england.....i have attached a picture of my car.. if any one hears or see's it please call me asap on 0044 (0) 7831 641169

police think the car will be outside of the uk and sold abroad..

the car is burgundy, with black soft top with the small back window, it has cream diles and a crome luggage rack

So sorry to hear about your car. From where was it stolen? How long had it been alone? Did you have an alarm on it?

How about a year? Good God the car you just described is so generic that there are probably a couple thousand replicas in California alone that meet that description. Is it a replica or an original, I am guessing an original, but maybe someone screwed up and accidently stole a replica?

How about something very unique or defining or different about the car, how about a picture? I personally, know of 3 cars that would match your exact description.

"Missing, my walet, its brown leather, with pockets inside that you put stuff in, it may or may not have money in it"

Would make a good advert for LO-Jack! Now if they could just expand LO-Jack world-wide vice just 80% of US.

I empathize with you on the theft of your pride and joy. Anyone who has ever had their car (or any other personal property) burglarized or stolen can appreciate that gut wrenching feeling. I hope that somehow the police are able to recover your car!

Give us some details of the car and I will lock this thread for a while. The worldwide speedster community is very small. We see each others cars regularly. Someone will see you car eventually.

The picture of your car didn't come up. Is it a right hand or left hand drive?

can i say a big thanks to you guys for your kind words... the car was a replica , righthand drive... it was stolen from outside my house in london england... it had an alarm ,immobiliser and crook lock for the wheel.... my neighbour saw them take it... they pulled a recovery vechile along side and lifted it clean off the road..she thought the car had broken down

the car has cream interior with burgundy piping.... it has a mark on the drivers side rear arch where a small amount of paint has been removed

If there going to steal it they will as they tend to be quite creative. I realize the loss but also hope that you have insurance coverage.
A word to the wise should you see a local flat bed truck yanking a neighbors favorite ride, jot down a discription, tag etc, you never know.

Gday James. A RHD eh? Chances are someone thought it was an original. I think your car will most probably remain in the UK when they find it's a replica. Hopefully they won't molest it so you can get her back. The car looks nice. Let's put the word out.

To add pics... at the bottom of the respond box (where you enter text) you see 3 choices File 1-2-3, click on one and you will be prompted to select the picture to add. These are the pictures from your file. I am also MAC. You will need to make sure you do not use the extension JPEG but use JPG. (Otherwise you will see a picture icon and not the actual thumbnail)

Now RHD adds a huge detail, this car will not leave the country....chances are it will be abandoned somewhere soon. I just hope they don't burn it like they did a corvette I once owned.

As RHD it could end up in Japan. But I agree they probably thought it was an original and will abandon it once they discover it's not. Of course it's possible they can't tell the difference and only the guy who ordered the car will know once he gets it.

Hopefully the Police in London are as keen on recovering stolen property as they are up near the Thetford/Bichester area. I had a pair of professional roller skates stolen while hoisting a few in a local pub. Was I ever surprised that they recovered the skates a week later. Good luck...

James - I see you license # PVE 937 J but would help when you post if you included the VIN too. That way if it shows up another color on ebay it might get flagged. Doesn't the Registry offer Stolen car info on their web site --- or is that only for real thing? I think I'd call around to some of the recovery places -- can't be that many vehicles capable of taking it like that. My neighbor has a white Chevy Monte Carlo SS 454 take from a VA Metro parking garage. Perps backed a wrecker up to it and took off --- there were rubber tire marks for 30 feet or so. It was recovered 3 weeks later in a downtown DC alley stripped.

I'm no pro skater but I had a pair of Dance/figure roller skates with precision bearings and swivel trucks. They cost $125.00 back in 1959, no idea what a comprable pair would cost today.

Your best bet would be to talk to customs across the channel. That would be the most likely way it would leave the country.
Im sorry to say a vin number would not help you much unless there were several hidden serals stamped on the car during the build, as I did mine. that require parcel dismatiling, to cofirm the car owner.
It,s way to easy to nip and tuck in new numbers from a wrecked bug. However ,Any custom mods to the car would help you. adintify it.
