"I have had engine #4095210 and transmission #70872 stolen from my trailer. Both are full vintage race modified. Although it is uncertain, I suspect the thieves probably don't know what they have or even that they are Porsche. Please be on the look out in case they surface in the Porsche or VW community. Given the opportunity I would buy them back without hesitation, no questions asked. The trailer was on our property just outside Vancouver, BC, Canada."

I know this guy; I met him through a friend and 20 years ago I traded him a 356 transaxle (with discs) and front trailing arms (again, with discs) for a pair of 15x6 and 15x7 factory alloys. I hadn't talked to him since. It sounds like he's still vintage racing. I'm going to a local VW/Porsche swap meet this Sunday and I'll keep an eye out...Al

that realy sucks ,is there any easy identifiable things on it so we can easely have an idea if it is seen somewhere?? I truly hope they dont know what it is& unload it so it can be found.

The Samba has an "ALERT/STOLEN" window on their opening page.

It's important that Greg files an official police report so if it ever turns up it can be returned to him.

Especially effective IF Greg has been insurance compensated for the loss...They have long memories!
