I'm Still working on "weathering in" my car. My current pipe dream is lubricated over-lapping rubber "blades" or "scrubbers" attached vertically on both sides of the hinge slot inside the trunk. Anybody been down this road?
As an ol' sheet metal worker, I've also been thinking about "boxing in" the hinges on the inside of the car. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks all for a great Speedster forum!

You can box the hinges in from under the dash with boxes molded of fiberglass. Make them outside of the car (determine size and shape with cardboard, then either use that as a mold or make up a separate mold) and then you can either glass them in or make up some body filler and use that like cement to glue them in.

If I were to do it again, though, I would make up the boxes outside and then just glue them in with clear silicon caulk (use something to hold them in place while the caulk cures). MUCH easier to work with than trying to glass them in.
