If I were so inclined, does anyone know where to source a straight cut, vinyl boot cover for a VMC replica speedster? I’m just toying with the idea, but didn’t want to head down the DIY path before asking around.

I may reach out to Sierra Madre, as they’ve helped with other things and they have items of this sort on their replica parts page. Still, shoehorning something is fraught with peril; I’m happy to do the legwork to find something more correct from the start.

I think Teby has one. I saw it and saved the pics, it looked so good. Yeah, I feel like a total creeper who shamefully saves pics of other dudes’ cars. 😬

Any help would be much appreciated.

I originally ordered a straight cut one for my VMC, as well. I pick it up in 13 days!  At the time, Anna and Greg said that they could get it. However, people on the board pointed out that there are issues with clearance of the driver seat, depending on how tall you are. The discourse is in the following thread.

Since I’m 6’1”, I decided to go with the curved one, even though, like you, I liked the idea of the square one

I had a '69 MGC (Same a MGB but straight 6 from AH 3000).  The full tonneau could be folded down to accomplish what your want.  It had two flaps with clips that fastened to floor by rear package area.  It also had a removeable bar that went side to side to make a crisp edge.  It had a metal pocket either side and the bar was 2 piece so easy to store. It was great for keeping top and other stuff out of sight.

@JoelP : However much you like the straight cut version, be sure to run a string tight between the two door-edge posts or snaps and see if your shoulders touch the string with your seat in driving position. I have the impression that sportscar drivers in the mid-fifties had a more elbows-bent driving style than I do, and I had a custom tonneau done so that I could zip it open enough to clear my shoulders.
