Does anyone have any information - good or bad - about their Speedster Replica? Does anyone own one or know someone who does? I'm looking for a reasonably priced kit or "roller" or complete car.

Please do a search and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have after that.
I can boil it down to this: I got from SB what I was promised, on time and complete, no more no less. The support was basically non-existant. I found better help here. If you are looking for a roller, look elsewhere. Maybe scan the classifieds for a partially built CMC. Only buy a SB if you want a new tube frame based kit that you want to enjoy building as much as the driving.

Jerome's speedster IS a work of art and for a first time build it's amazing that he has so much fine detail work intergrated in the car it's truly unique !
On Street Beasts web site under "owners" it shows my silver blue speedster, which is not a but a CMC custom build....so much for them stretching the truth a bit.
I don't know what your time frame is however, I am to receive a deluxe kit from SB here in late February or early March that I'll be building for Al Shapiro and can give you details at that time.

I figured this was as good of place to post this as any...I received a call this morning from Phil at Street Beasts, who told me that they are running a special now on their Speedster deluxe kit and quick build package for $11,500.
I'm not promoting their product, just thought I would pass along the information for anyone who might be interested.
I'm in the fact finding stage right now, and don't expect to purchase a kit for at least one year (waiting for retirement). So if anyone has any recommendations for or against Street Beast, I would be interested to hear.

It would seem that Street Beasts "Special" price is high!Retail price of the kit when I purchased was $12,995.They gave me a Factory Rebate
of $2500,which brought the price of the kit to $10,495+$350 for crating=$10,845.This price includes thier $1500(No Charge)Pre-Assembly
Package)I just recieved what they refer to as "The Build Manual".It is nothing more than an outdated CMC manual,which can be downloaded from this website.They have made NO updates for the tubular chassis
whatsoever.Thier reasoning is that the Speedster is thier lowest volume product sold,so therefore they have not updated the info on
actuaaly building this Kit.All of thier other kits include Build Manual and a DVD on constructing the kit.I was told by the Head of Technical Support,that the Speedster kit will only take 75-80 hours to build.That is the time they said is neccessary for the Novice to complete the package.What a joke!!!They obviously have no grasp of reality!Al Merklin feels as though it will take about 400-450 hours to build.I trust his estimate!Al will post progress reports on my build as it progresses.Happy New Year to all!

I spent more than 80 hours just shopping on the internet for parts!
It took me 14 months at about 10 hours/week average to assemble mine. Thats about 560 hours. If I build another I will probably be closer to Al's 450 hours.

I'm enjoying the Street Beasts humor department! With their quoted
75 to 80 hours of build time......Whoopeeeee it's Payola time in my town :) For that to happen I would assume that if they had decent directions, page one would read
