Has anyone ever had to remove a bango type horn button? I've got a new VS and when you push the horn button it sticks and the horn blows continuously. I've tried to lube the button but that didn't help. I've also tried to release the three small catches on the collar of the the streering wheel to get to the horn mechanism but they won't release. Any other ideas. Thanks, Gary

Yes,
I've had them apart there are holes in the back of the steering wheel that help you push the button assy off with a long 3/32 flat end punch.
Bend up carfully the 3 tabs on the back of the button to take it apart Hopefully the flat spring may have simply slipped out of its mount.
When you put it back togther put a small dab of silicone at the rim end if the flat spring to hold it in its mount and reasemble it. You shoud be good to go.

It can be fussy to get the back off the button case but it will come use a exzacto knife to work it out slowly anf carfully.

It will open
I had some more ideas that might help you as well.

Mask off the face and trim ring to prevent scratching it.

Sand the edge of the back cover so it will go back on easyier.

Test the switch .If you can before you bend the tabs down completely.

You can bow the flat spring more or less to adjust the contact to your liking.

(Caution) the tabs look like they would break off rather easy from repeated bending, try to get it, on the first try!!!
