Looks home made. Beck?
It cracks me up when they include the history of the 550 and the link to a mediocre actor, in the description of the car, but don't give any details of said car.
Morons.
Carlos,
You may know a lot about cars, but you don't seem to know much about actors. FWIW, you may want to look at some of Dean's classic movies, e.g., Giant, Rebel Without a Cause, and East of Eden. Maybe they were well before your time. He was only 24 when he died, but left a mark.
Maybe I should've said that "I" wasn't impressed, but hey, it takes all types.
I don't know a lot of one thing, I just know a little of a lot of things.
I'm in agreement with Carlos on Dean. He's OK. More hype though. We Spyder owners MAY be more judgmental because we always have to hear about what car he died in.....
Description of car says factory built Beck.
Jim, I just watched Boondock Saints, I'd never seen it before. I liked it!

The first Boondock Saints is great, the sequel, not as good.
There's not much that is "factory built" about that car. It is NOT one of my factory built Subaru cars for sure, and there's about 20 other items that I see in the few photos that are NOT the way we do things... It looks like one of our older 1980s CA kits based on the hood hinge retrofit and some chassis details, plus a lot of "home built" items in there too...
I also found it odd that they listed 5 paragraphs about James and the history of the 550, but only listed a few words about the actual replica.
Neat car. Something weird about the wheels in more than a few photos.
I'm with Jim when it comes to Dean. Standout acting accomplishments for his age. He would have gone down as one of the greatest actors of all time. Everything happened too fast for him. Most think that he was a bisexual. Most also think that he was traveling at over 100 mph at the time of his death.
Sorry, Carey. I though it might be an early Suby by you, and you changed the way the radiator(and other things) was done since then. Apologies.
You guys know more of what to look for in a subie conversion than I do. But to me it looked like a nice clean job. Someone took some care on the install. I have seen some real junk. Even though I certainly understand an after build install will never be as clean (and certainly not up to Carey's skill) .... even so , I thought it looked like a fun little car.
I'll likely never open my hood up again. That's a nice looking motor.
