Does anyone with the Subie EJ in their 356 have problems with the oil sump bottoming out?

Should be outfitted with a shortened oil pan. Assuming you have a standard ride height, there shouldn't be any issues with bottoming out.

As mentioned above, a shortened oil pan is required. We use the large cast (small car) for rear engine, and the Outfront for mid engine.
Or keep the rear jacked up like the recent SAS car for sale and mentioned here on SOC.
@howdo in a word?..YESSS!!....i have hit a unexpected pot hole so hard i was sure it ripped the oil pan off!...just kept driving...pretty much nothing i could do about it until it SEIZED....luckily it did not ...also hit a dead coyote FULL FORCE at 60 mph which wasn't an immovable object...but hit HARD..... it has 1/4 steel plate welded around the bottom....sooo ya live and learn!...gotta do the ANGLE around speed bumps and driveways and simply pay attention....i'm procrastinating about the billet aluminum pan and the $500 + DOLLAR cost which saves over 2 inches...should be a no-brainer...perhaps at some point it will happen
Bit the bullet and bought the Small Car cast pan kit way back in the day when I re-engined Bridget. Never regretted that decision.
Yeah the pan works fine on my subie IM ..
