Sometimes , there are nights when the living is just good. Madeline and I met some friends for dinner at the Metro Grill in Flanders, NJ after a hot, humid, thunderstorm driven afternoon. It cleared up around 7pm, just in time to put the top down on La Bomba. I took the long way to the Grill, just to soak up the flat 6 sound, and enjoy some two lane black top. I know that you've all got your favorite drives, moments, when everything is just, well, perfect. This was one of those evenings, when all that "waiting" for your ride to be done, is worth it all. SUBLIME! Care to share some of yours?

Howard:

After we made the run through the 318 turns of the "Tale of the Dragon" down in Tennessee last October, we made part of the return trip on the Cherohala parkway (very much like Skyline Drive with stunning mountain scenery) and then left that and came down out of the hills onto some of the nicest, gently winding country roads you've ever seen.

Low rolling hills through farms full of cows and horses, occasional people waving on the side of the road, weather was perfect and we knew dinner was waiting when we got there.

Absolutely sublime....
Sunday afternoon Jen and I took a drive in threatening T-storm skies. We ended up spending about two hours driving around, sometimes fast, mostly cruising. We ended up getting only a few drops each on us, hardly worth talking about. We stopped at a local brewpub, I had a Hefeweizen(it was warm out), she had a blueberry-flavored beer. It is called Back Porch Lager, and is actually quite good, as I am usually not into mixing beer and fruit. It even has a dozen or so beer-soaked blueberrie in the glass, tasty! The Hefe is usually good there, but this year it was perfect! I can't wait to go get some more. Thye place is The Gilded Otter, in New Paltz, NY, 12 miles from my door. I know, it is too far away!

Anyway, the point of this is the ride was sublime, the company perfect. Life is good!
