Phillip-
This topic is like the changing of seasons- it's inexorable, and predictable. Nobody's jumping on your case, and if your question related only to locating a hardtop for your Apal, then I wouldn't have said anything.
However, you threw in another sentence at the end of your post, "I wrote to Fibersteel to enquire about their Plasticon hardtop but I have had no response.", which engendered my response to check the "search" function.
I'd recommend you not just search "hardtop", but also "Fibersteel". Even throwing it out indicates that you didn't read the experience of others. I posed extensively on my Fibersteel/JPS Glaspar hardtop nightmare back in 2004 or so, and at least 2 dozen times since. Hence, "... must... hold... back..." I very nearly went Captain Ahab on this one.
Russ Rodriguez (Fibersteel) makes some really great (and expensive) stuff. I bought speedster seats from him last year and they are fantastic. However, the "coming soon" Plasticon hardtops for replicas are not, have never been, and will never be.
I wish you the best. You'll need to source whatever you are after from somewhere besides Fibersteel.
If you do locate and/or build one- after a considerable outlay of time and treasure, you'll likely find that spending 1/10 the same amount on making your soft top seal up better would have yielded much better results. But that's all been covered before as well, and you did the search, so there's nothing new to add.
Forewarned is forearmed.
