had a 65, took it on one of the tourD'Hoe...nice car but too small for me, fast but not too fast, all have overheating problems, needs power steering,make sure it has the optional hardtop..dont miss it too much,
I had an Alpine back in the mid 1970s. After completely rebuilding it , it was great . Took me all over the US and across Canada, then home again. But not up for it again - at this point. :-)
Nice seeing it all dismantled and put back together. Over years I looked at a few well-used ones (in NJ area) but all seemed to have rust worms. This one is clean. Darn, no hard top. Many parts like body parts (and hard top) from the more common 4 cylinder Sunbeam Alpine fit too.
Also I am heading to a large British Car Fayre this Saturday. The Sunbeam club will be there . .. if that is of any use to anyone.
