I was making plans to attend this show, then my girlfriend saw John Leader's post mentioning the "EXOTICS" now I'm on restriction.

Now my girlfriend thinks I was trying to sneak off for a wet T-shirt contest or something.

Where are Stanley Gold's cars and Jerry Seinfeld's cars. They have some fine "real" Speedsters. I wish they'd show them off more.

I read you John, I even take my car models out of the case every so often and run them around the floor making the appropriate motor noises. I haven't quite got the flat four noise perfected yet. I have a new neighbor with a Cobra replicar, has a VERY BIG engine from the sound of it and he keeps coming by my house and slows down, blipping the throttle. I wonder what that is all about?

Bruce
Paul, Ok, maybe I can use the rear orifice noise for the 4 cyl rug runs. The Cobra is very intimdating to my little Speedy. It drove by the other day when I was mowing the lawn and he spied Speedy in the garge, maybe that what it is all about. I'd sure hate to have to make him look bad, I'd lose a new friend.

How is the car running? Those carbs dialed in? Hope you can make our tour in October and I'll promise to recreate the Knotts sound effects.

Later, Bruce
John mentioned that jay Leno uses his collection....

Interesting thing that a guy a mile up the road from me has been building and restoring Stanley Steamers for many years, he has continued the serial production numbers from when production was halted. There is a 2 year wait for one of his Stanley's.
He also maintains Leno's two Stanley's. Leno flys him to the west coast as necessary.
My neighbor Randy is one of two known to do fabrication of the rears, suspension and boilers.
If you ever have the oportunity to ride in one do so, the power and acceleration is unreal!
Alan,
Funny you should mention Leno's Steamers. My daughter and son-in-law saw Jay driving one of his Stanley Steamers on Coldwater Canyon Boulevard in L.A. today. Gotta love a guy who has hundreds of amazing cars, but actually gets (most of) them out on the road for some actual driving.
I used to see Jay Leno many days about 1:30 PM on the Ventura Freeway headed East into Burbank for The Tonight Show. I was able to spot him because he was always driving something unique (which is hard to do in Los Angeles).
John,

Not trying to be a nitpicker but the Yellow Cord is not as you lable it, an L29. it is a later model 36 or 37 and the red roadster you lable as a Buggati looks strangly like a Cad Allard J2X. Still very cool cars. That "Big Bertha", is that Leno's hand made car with the aircraft engine? Cool cars! The Meissen Blue Speedster, was that a "real" one?

Bruce

Apologies for any misidentifications - I took the IDs off the show cards posted with the cars, but I could have crossed a few up. I'll fix the two you mentioned; I don't know the older classics model-by-model.
The "Big Bertha" belongs to Michael Leeds & Randy Grubb from (get this, Bruce) Grants Pass, OR. Leno has one like it.
The blue 356 was an Aetna Blue Cabriolet, not a Speedy. Yes, it was very much a Porsche.
Leno's car was built by the same builder but looks similar to a huge vintage indy race car. It's powered by an M47 Patton Tank engine - 1,800 cu.in. all aluminum air cooled overhead camshaft with individual finned aluminum cylinders 1200 horsepower with 1500 ft.lbs. of torque. It's called the Blastolene Special. See
