Bob - The Pomona Fairgrounds is closest to the 10 Fwy (Santa Monica Fwy). Here are basic directions from the area of the Pomona Fairgrounds to Malibu (driving distance will be about 45 miles and drive time about 1 hour);

1. 10 Fwy West (Santa Monica Fwy West) to 605 Fwy South.

2. 605 Fwy South to 60 Fwy West (Toward LA/Santa Monica). This will allow you to avoid the FWY interchange nightmare in LA.

3. Continue on the 60 West to the interchange to 10 Fwy (to Santa Monica)

4. The 10 fwy ends at the beach in Santa Monica and continues North as Pacific Coast Hwy (Hwy 1)

5. Continue north on PCH through Malibu.

6. The Topanga Ranch Motel is just past the PCH intersection with Topanga Cyn (about 10 miles north of Santa Monica)

Hey all,

Sorry about holding things up earlier. Safely back home after a trip on the flatbed. Had a nice lunch at the Reel Inn (!), and several bizarre conversations with stoners having a smoke in a van parked next to me. Then got chatting to a well-preserved 50'ish blonde woman (I mean that in a Beverly Hills kind of way), who told me that she had always wanted to ride in a tow truck. She then gave me her business card and told me to phone her later to "let her know how things worked out"...

Can't work out where the fault is - it's not the coil as I suspected, but I'll have a better look when I have a bit more time. In the meantime, if anyone here has a tow truck and needs a lawyer in Thousand Oaks - I know just the woman.

Never a dull moment with the SOC gang... hope you all had a good day, and shook Vince down properly.

John.
John, unless this is some sort of challenge for you that you must fix yourself, I have a mechanic on Artesia Blvd near Inglewood ave..
Cars Automotive 310 371-7055..(ask for Michael) who will have that tub running perfect...(even if it is an IM) the same day you bring it in, no more sitting on the side of the road...

On the brighter side, we started with 8 tubs, 7 left the Topanga Ranch Motel for the Rudder room....we got lost a few times but finally made our destination.....great location for a bar right in the sand....cruised on home in time to complete a few chores around the house....

It was billed as a shake-down for my wide one, but as it turns out my tub wasn't even the last one in the group to be built....our own Roy R, from Long Beach who also cruises a Spyder had Kirk build him a stout looking tub with a 1776 mill....so Congrats to Roy.....
Roy's tub is the burgandy colored one in the pic's that are sure to follow..
Thanks to everyone who showed up....it was a little foggy along the coast, but otherwise a great day in So. Cal.
