Doing some maint. on Blackie. So I decided to finally replace the shift rod bushing and coupler I had on hand. Had a little trouble withdrawing the shift rod from the car. I can't imagine how this thing was installed except it was welded together in the car by the PO. Couple hour job turned into a 7 hr. funfest till it was back in and together. Next up is coating the floorboards with bedliner type stuff....YaY Me!

At least that's behind you!
Probably one of the best welding jobs I've ever seen... Spectacular
I just hope I don't have any problems since I've ground them flush!

Oh, Larry-- I once had a "Brand X" speedster with welds like that all over it. It was most excellent.
I never knew Ray Charles could weld????
Wasn't Ray taught to weld by Stevie Wonder?
Well, all's weld that ends weld.
(ducks, runs away snickering)
As well he should
Got the bedliner coating down last night. Boy, that is some thick stuff! I laid it on heavy using half a quart on each side! Turned out pretty good. Now it all gets covered up with carpet not to be seen anyway!
