 Started my car today and lo and behold the fuel filter started to leak all over the garage floor I turn the engine off and just a couple of screws had to be tightened goes to show you before the season starts Check and check again

Object lesson as to why the darn things need to be out of the engine bay. I had my 64 VW bus go up in flames because of that. I moved my fuel filter underneath and away from the headers on the Speedster. I also went to an all metal filter.

yes, out of the engine bay is good!

I went with the metal filter that screws into my electric fuel pump, they're mounted on the tub where vS puts the oil cooler, I used one of the leftover studs after I moved the oil cooler to the rear drivers-side wheel well.

 

Me too actually I was glad I caught it .  The fortunate thing is mine is metal and it's located way back and I have a subie engine but it might be worthwhile to move it I just would not know where

FYI I have two filters one just leaving the tank and one by the engine as in the picture let's just say that it will now be part of my regular maintenance check
