Hello group -
Looking at used Speedsters. I test drove a beautiful speedster
today, that was a "10" for appearance, but it rode like your sitting
on a concrete park bench. What would you recommend - - would soften the ride of a speedster? It had those white looking shocks in the rear, I think there KB shocks? Would shocks do the trick, or is there something else that can be done? Thanks

A "modern" chassis dictates a very rigid structure, soft springs and very good shocks. A hand-built speedster may have a 45 year old chassis and stiff springs to compensate.

Speedster springs can be softened (torsion leaves removed) and shocks are avaliable in many varieties. Don't forget anti-sway bars.

There really is no standard here. Build like you want it. That may be hard for a non-owner to swallow - but it is half of the allure. It's affectionately called "the madness". There is no immunization!
