Anyone have experience putting a SVDA in their speedster that comes with the EMPI ECT 34's? It is not clear to me where the vacuum port on the ECT is (or could be put in)

Engine is the Vintage Speedster 1915 Stocker, so thinking that the better advance would make a big fuel and performance improvement. Interested in peoples opininion on the performance improvements possible with the better advance curve.

A GOOD upgrade IMO.
I have the same engine setup and purchased from Aircooled.net the Mallory SVDA w/ electronic module and had them setup the Advance Curves . I also purchased their recommended Bosche coil (correct resistance is CRITICAL for the life of the module).
On the Left side of each carb there is a vacuum port tube that has a cover over it. I "T'd" a vacuum line to both carbs and then to the distributor. You want a vacuum source that's above the throttle plate. IF you have a vacuum guage you can verify the correct tubes/ports on the carbs. At idle there's NO vacuum and when you open the throttle you'll see vacuum. A MAJOR improvement in starting, cooling and mileage (appx. 4 mpg).

I run the Pertronix svda and coil, along with dual Solex/brosol 34mm carbs. Big improvements in driveability, mileage and temp's, vs the stock carb and 009 distributor. The vacuum line only runs to the left carb though, as only the left carb has the vacuum port on it. Seems to work fine,, not sure if hooking up to both carbs is better or not ?? Alan
From Kirk/(EMPI): 140 main, 50 idle, 200 air.
Now I'm at 140 main, 50 idle and 175 air. It's still rich but I'm getting 24mpg combo driving (3.88 ring and pinion). I purchased a Innovate AFR setup but haven't installed it yet. I'm waiting for a new throttle linkage since you have to take the existing one off when you want to change Main or Air jets as the linkage mounts to the top of each carb. I'll post when I get some AFR info as I know several run this setup from Kirk.
