Rich--I measured and found that the clearance in front under the sway bar as well as in the rear under the C.B. Performance thin line sump is exactly 6".

I also measured from the bottom of the door to the garage floor and that's 12". Then from the bottom of the body to the floor, 9". (The bottom of the body is 3" lower than the lower edge of the door.

I have neder scraped the sway bar. I did scrape the sump once when I drove straight out of my own driveway rather that at an angle. That scrape drone one of the acorn nuts further onto the stud and stripped both the nut and that end of the stud. A new nut and stud fixed it perfectly. I never want to bang it harder than that though.

My own feeling is that the way a Speedster "sits" defines a Speedster's looks. I like the height of my own car and feel it sits the way a Speedster is supposed to. Your mileagee vary.

Rich - FWIW here are a few pics of my '95 VS with clearance of 7" from bottom of chassis to road (at door handle) and 8" from bottom of body to road (beneath trim strip at door handle).

I've put over 100,000 Km (65,000 miles) on his car at this ride height without any problems. I trimmed my center exhaust tip (A-1 Performance) 2 inches to negate scraping on low entry/exit driveways.

This slightly lower stance (not slammed) greatly enhances the look/lines of the car with a road-hugging appearance. Like you said, it's all about personal preference tempered by suspension geometry.

I think Troy Sloan had a similar ride height process (like yourself) with his awesome wide-body VS.

Thanks everyone! I just measured some key points on my car and I don't think I'm all that much different than your cars. 6-1/4" at the sway bar, 5" at the camber compensator, 7-1/2" at the lowest point on the pan, 9-1/2" at the muffler, 12-1/2" from the bottom of the door directly below the door handle and 12" from the bottom of the body at the same point. Are any of you running 50 series tires? Mine are 225/R50-15's.
