Have a 69 IRS pan based CMC non-flared with 4 wheel disc on chrome 8 hole 4 bolt rims.

Looking for alternatives to tuck the 185x65's inside the lip a bit more without hitting calipers or anything else and give  speedy a sexier look.

Take a look at these sweet aluminum rims by Enkei and the technical data for fitment--especially the offset at 17mm--can that be right--yes I'll be looking at a set locally when I can find a set locally.

#1-- would these work without hitting the calipers?

#2-- since the passenger side is already tucked in by 1/2 more the drivers side would I use a spacer to keep it centered to make both wheel wells/rim depth look the same?

The Madness Continues,

David

Very nice wheels, but I'm bias, since I'm putting something very similar on my dune buggy.

With my pan based IM, 185/65-15 tires, and 15x6 inch wheel with a 37mm offset, I had 1/2" clearance on one side (rear) and about an 1/8 " clearance on the other side.

You may find that a 17mm offset will push your wheels out too far.  No two pan cars are identical and what will fit on one car could  just as easily rub on another.

Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to install the wheels/tires.

If you have a run-of-the-mill aftermarket disc brake kit the 15" wheel should clear the caliper without any rubbing.
