So my car came with two keys that had large square pieces of rubber/plastic on them. Within the first month of owning the car, the rubber dried out, and the metal portion of the key fell out.

I went on eBay and bought a VW "flip" key, like you see on the newer cars. It has a little pin in the side of it, so you can remove the cut portion of the key. I took my key for the speedster, and cut a groove in it using a dremel. Slid this key into the VW FOB, and slid the pin back in place.

Now I have a really cool looking flip key! I just can't tell you how many people ask me if the trunk button actually works... THAT would be overkill.
