My speedometer only has green bands from 25 to 40 mph. Why only this range and what are they trying to tell me?

Also, the tach has green bands from 2500 to 4500, which I assume is Porsche telling me that this is the best operating range. Yes?

I believe the 25-40MPH is where it's safe to downshift. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I am will come along and fill us in.

The original 356 manual says these bands on the speedo are the common appropriate speeds for city driving. The tach was to indicate "power band".
