Just fired up my engine for the first time for the initial valve break in. I had all my guages hookup on on a piece of plywood so I could monitor how things were going, oil temp, pressure, RPMS, etc.

But the tach did not work, so I had to us a backup meter.

Here is how I had it wired.

Back of tach in the middle has + 1 -. + goes to power, - to ground. On the coil there is the power side (marked 15 on bosch coil), and then the side that goes to the distributor (marked 1 on bosch coil). I attached the 1 from the tach to the "1" on the coil, or the same place the wire goes back to the distributor.

Do I have something wrong? There are a bunch more hookups on this tach (standard VDO set from Vintage), but they all appear to be lights for blinkers and such.
