Since I sold the first one I made for my Spyder I decided to make another one.  This one is an eighth inch thinner than the first one and I used Allen head cap screws instead of straight slot machine screws.   Gotta go see Greg at VMC this week so I'll get a dash impression off my dash to make the curved spacer for this timer.

Fireproof saw dust ??  ha ha ! Those are the chips from carving the rally timer out of a slab of aluminum.  I used to throw it away but now I store all my metal waste and sell it from time to time.   I really like doing things on my mill and lathe but if I had to do it all day for a living I'd be looking for some other kind of work !  Precision is nice but requires a lot of vigilance !

Thanks for the kind comments !  Right now, since I don't have the Spyder to play with, It's about all I have to offer as a project on here.  I won't get my Spyder until I get back from Mexico and since our best friend stays in my home here while we are gone I don't want him messing with it.  I always have to keep him from getting his Paws  on my toys .  He always breaks stuff !  Just like when we were kids Ha Ha ! ........Bruce

ALB. ......I finally got the engine turning jig set up on my drill press in a way that really makes it easy to do.  I little time consuming but that goes away when I see the results.

A long time ago I had a holding fixture that held the stopwatches in 4 way spring loaded clips.  Someone at a C & C swiped them right out of the bracket.  This one eliminates that problem.

Today, at a C & C  a guy with an 1947 MG, TC asked me if I could make a curved one to fit the profile of the TC dash on the left side. (car is Rt. hand steering).  I took a photo and am drawing up one to see how it will look today.  Making a curved jig to do the engine turning will be a fun challenge too !.............Bruce

Imperial.........You need to remove the three screws and both watches fall out with the retaining cap and screws.  They are pretty secure unless crook brings his proper size Allen wrench and is comfortable with the time it will take to remove them. Certainly better than the "clip-on" type holding fixture though.

I was dreaming about engine turning again today and came up with what my fixture should look like in order to do engine turning on a diminishing radial axis . This is gonna be fun !.............Bruce
