Tandem Master Cylinder

Was this the right thing to get? I have 2 hose attachment things. What now? Do I somehow split the front to one and the back to another?

Yup, you've got it.....

There should be two hose fittings on top for the resivour, and two tubing fittings for the brake lines. the front one goes to the front brakes (both sides) and the rear one goes to the rear brakes.

You should also have two positions for brake light switches. Follow the VW wiring diagram (and you can have a "Brake Failure Light" on the dash!), or, if you just say "the HELL wid it!" when trying to wire them up, just use one as a brake-only switch. Hook up each one and use the one that lights the brakes with the least pedal movement/pressure (it's usually the back one, but I found the front one required less pressure to actuate and used that).

Your reference to "front and rear" for the lines....Front is the line fitting closer to the pedal end of the cylinder rather than the front of the car. Did I figger that right??

Nope - the other way around. The "front" brake line fitting on the master cylinder is farthest toward the front bumper, while the "rear" line fitting is closest to the pedals (or the rear of the car).

Does the Triumph have front disks? had those on our '67 Healey and they were BIG! - about the same size as on my F-150 Pickup!

Yup it's got front disks. TR started using them in 1957. Rotors aren't that big, never measured them but I'd be willing to bet they are the same size as the '57s. Brits don't seem to be hampered by too much much technological advancement. Suprising number of pieces will interchance with TR's back to 1954.
