I was out today trying to put some miles on the new ride, ya it finally made it here, 5 miles from home it won't shift out of first. So I drive home at 5-10mph, a little embarrassing. Tops is down, it starting to rain, yeah it was like a bad dream. I got home, logged on to the SOC, did a quick search for shifting problems, there like a beacon in the night is TC's answer on what to do. I lift the cover on the tunnel and low and behold the bolt that holds the linkage together has backed out. Tightened it up and am now back in business. Thanks again, TC you the man! Ok, when we finally get our speedster badges, you can get in line ahead of me!

Nah, I just ended up replacing that same coupler in my Ghia recently, that's how i knew about all of it.

If I were REALLY the man, I would have remembered to include Carey's tip abut the safety wire . . . which i NOW have to do to my OWN repair . . . 'cause I'm NOT the man, evidently . . . just a chimp with a wrench and a new coupler and NO stupid safety wire!

Hey Jerry,
It rides great and corners very nicely. I've taken it a couple times on back mountain roads, funny you read you'll take the long curvey roads home, then it just happens. I think it's the cars and not the drivers that make that happen. Driving in the mountains, I let up before the car wanted to, that I can say/promise. I'm getting together with another SOC member the next couple of weeks and do a swap with his VS. His car looks really good and runs very well too, should be fun. Jerry you have made a wise decision.
