I had a two hour project that turned into a five hour nightmare. I wanted a more accurate guage that read real degrees instead of the relative indicator that comes in the IM. SO I ordered an adapter that woujld allow both senders to plug into it, a new VDO guage and sender. Unfortuantely the adapter did not fit. Of course the paperwork says it is unreturnable, so I used the old sender. NOw I needed to run a wire back in to the cabin. Unfortuanatyely Henry and gang has made such a tight wiring harness and sealed everything so well that I would have had to drill new a new hole through the firewall and tear up the carpet etc. Not something I wanted to do so I used the same wire with the original sender. I used one of the holes that housed the air conditioner facias to house the gauge, clipped off the sender wire that ran to the original temp gauge and ran it to the VDO. MY QUESTION IS THIS. DOes this need to be a dedicated wire, like the gound which VDO says must be dedicated or can the one sender wire be shared by both temp gauges.
Yes, I am no electrical whiz. : - )
