So Lane, when and what are you going to bid? This car or a similar one has been here in Atlanta for awhile but priced at something like $85K with no engine and transmission. M&W does a terrific job on cloning the original but at a price. I am not sure that a car like this would offer enough 'creature comforts' for most of us but it sure is 'purdy'.
Man, the more I look at that car the more I like it. Did someone say there is one for $85K!? That's just crazy, that much for that car.
Maybe it's the winter that's making me so antzy but I seem to be spending an exceptional amount of time cruising auto sale sites. I recall this time last year I was doing the same and I ended up deciding to redo the Speedster (which still isn't completely done).
Ferraris, Evos, 904's, I have serious ADD or something.

Gerd,
You crack me up. I'm a night time person, always have been. I can't put my head down until midnight at the earliest. I was a golf pro for 14 years. I had to get up before the sun almost everyday and I HATED it.
"but what is up with the electric blue velour seats?"

Pajamas . . .

For a time, AA also offered a kit to convert the 914 into a car that had similar lines, 'though not a dead-on clone. Still, it looked
really nice and had Porsche underpinnings and was very cheap to pick up.

Looks like it could be pounded into shape with a bit more fiberglass work and attention to the small stuff.
Was going to bid but just checked the price -gone above what my OZ dollar can afford..FYI there is an Aussie Martin 7 Walker 904 for sale -the owner has $200,000.00 Australian on it. Has a Porsche title but so do other replicas...The vendor is claiming it is a real 904!! but with no real 904 body etc etc

I think it is advertised on the NSW Porsche club site?

All the same perhaps it is a steal for someone in US or Europe?
