I have the original top and tonneau from Fiberfab/CMC that came with my new (to me) Speedster. I am ready to install both, but need some advice about the fasteners. I have many (several bags full) of stainless steel snaps. Having seen the snaps rip out of my boat cover due to many snappings and unsnappings, I thought that some other hardware might be better, like turnbuttons/turnbuckles or Tenax fasteners. I liked the Tenax, but the websites that I found advertised approximately $6 per fastener pair plus S&H. That is a bit steep. Anyone care to share their fastener experiences and/or direct me to a lower cost Tenax source? Thanks in advace.

Alan,

It's gonna be fun! (read=dangerous/scary)
Dad and I will spend the next few weekends stripping the main body (all aluminum) and polishing it. Plan to paint the nose cone and tail to resemble an old P-51, and the floats/skids like the old tigersharks.
The lake is starting to freeze around the edges, so I think we'll have it out on the ice before we have it on the water.
We need another project like I need another hole in my head, but just couldn't pass this one up!

Oh well, back to work.
