Well, he had to go farther than just to Carlisle to do it, but Johnny-two-bolts, sans the Subytub, finally met two-thirds of all of the Speedster owners (that we know of, at least) in all of Rhode Island last weekend.

We all met in Mystic, Connecticut, and had a great time talking about Carlisle, Speedsters and cars in general at World Famous Mystic Pizza (yes, indeed, the very same one Julia Roberts starred in, as her very first movie of the same name - it's still there!)

It was good to meet one another, and John Estes drove his Ivory Speedster over from Matunuck, RI, (in VERY threatening weather all day) to give John H. a ride to and from the meeting point to the pizza place in the center of town.

This next weekend, a momentous tour is brewing, where we hope to have ALL THREE of the Speedy owners in Rhode Island (that we know of, at least) on the same tour - almost as big as getting all of the Speedsters in Yellowknife together at the same time.

Stay tuned! Pictures at eleven.........

Now I'm jealous! About 20 yrs ago my wife and I took a vacation drive to Maine (in a Honda Civic) and I fell in love with the New England coast. Such scenery ripe with history. I especially remember the Conn coast, Mystic Seaport, New Bedford, hope to make it back there some day. Enjoy J2B !

Watch this site around Monday - we're hosting a Coastal Village Tour of five Speedys this weekend and should have some pretty good shots of the villages, beaches and sights along the way. We'll be touring the Southeast corner of New England, from Bristol, RI almost to New Bedford, MA, hitting farm stands, wineries and breweries as we come across them.

Bob, the Hoss hat was left at home. Sarah encourages me to only wear it for parades. There's no accounting for taste. Wait a minute, you said you didn't care for it either. Could it be me? NOOOOOOOO!

Greg, Mystic is great. I have good memories of that part of the country from years ago. Although I was born in Connecticut, my only recollection of Mystic is from my yoot (30's and appologies to "My Cousin Vinny.") BTW, lets plan a run before it gets rainy and cold so that the TAN-ah-see Speedster guys/gals can get some publicity. Think about a date and e-mail me. I'm pretty flexible.

Jerome (and others?), this trip to CT was to retrieve sweet bride from Manchester. She was working in western Hartford since January and will continue to consult probably through the end of the year on a half time basis from home with periodic TDY trips back. Since this was a move, I needed lots of space. I had the middle and back rows pulled out of the van and it was pretty full on the trip home. Ah, home sweet home.

I hope I can get a few folks in the near to me southeast fired up for a run so that Carlisle doesn't have to be the first Subytub viewing for everybody ;-) I'm anxious to see more cars and meet more people. How about it guys and gals? The Smokies has some great drives and I am certain that other areas, perhaps closer to you, do as well. Let's get something going! I would be glad to help out with the organization if we can get a group together.
