Let's give this a try. I changed the alignment to the right instead of center. Does this help? The image is still 1024X680, which is what virtually all of my larger images are. It appears to force all of the text to the left and the image to the right, so the text does not string on and on to the end of the image.
My screen resolution is 1600X1024 on a wide screen monitor and the image takes about 2/3 of the screen. In my opinion it looks fine and is not too large.
