Guys, I would love to, but its not happening for a long while yet...actually just put the trans back into the car. It will need to be rewired and possibly slap some new heads on it before I hit the streets. But I like the idea and would love to see this idea grow some...

its not faith Cory, its TIME!! I may just bite the bullet and pay someone to do some things...like rewire and head work..I just hate to do that but it may happen out of necessity...

Wife is suggesting I move the car to a rented garage so the other vehicles can utilize the bays... go figure..

Well Guys... Do we need to talk about this ride some more, or is it time to pick a month, meeting place and time? I'm semi-retired so am good to go anytime. Will volunteer to get us group hotel rates and look into finding a suitable route (Will check with local Bike shops).

Hey Jim W. -

You can't get enough of that Calif Hwy 1 drive on the coast - can you?
Hope the weather was cooperative with you for some top-down cruising (it's usually foggy/marine layer during the spring).

There is a road entry, on the north side of Bixby Bridge (your picture), that was the old Hwy 1 before the bridge was built. It isn't all paved, but a graded road nicely maintained by the county. It's a great drive at a higher elevation and through some scenic oak groves and farmlands. It is a 15 mile loop that comes back out onto Hwy 1 just below the Nepenthe Restaurant (on the ocean bluff).

Give a holler next time you're in SoCal!

Later!
Jim.

I looked at that road (the old costal road) and decided I might drag the sump off the speedster since we have it set up so low. Thanks for the description of the road.. I will drive it some day (in a rental car). It must be pretty steep to come in above Nepenthe!

I may give you a call in advance next time. We were in the area with some good friends and then my wife and I took a trip up to Big Sur on the PCH, out to Yosemite, down to Kings, and home via some other interesting places. It was a trip to remember.

Jim W -

That old coast road has gradual elevations (no more than 4% grade) and re-joins Hwy 1 south of Nepenthe. It is a fairly flat country road at that point. Might be a few spots though, that would give your sump a bump or two!

Sounds like you folks had a nice trip (riding the coolest set of wheels!). Glad you made it home safe and sound!

Hope everyone can work out the logistics for a casual SOC meeting/cruise somewhere in TX or OK! There will definitely be some primo cars in that gathering!
