No photos on the 914 but I can soon. I've wanted one of these since I was a teenager. I jumped at one in CT but the longs were gone. A typical result for impulsive buying (which I am very familiar with). Stripped that one and junked it.
Got a '74 which was pretty solid for the Northeast but still welded in the frame stiffener. Added Konis and redid all brake lines, calipers, etc. It had a 1.7 so put in a bog bore kit, had the crank balanced, H beam rods, CB cam, and Webers. Hoping to have it in next month for the startup -fingers crossed.
The '59 is a ground up. I've always done air-cooled so playing in water is a new experience. I thought the Speedster stuff was bad. On these you want a forged crank so that's a grand. Then I'm doing the Pauter rods to reduce the rotating mass -another grand. Oy.....
Have a great weekend!
