Took my Vintage Speedy into Kauth & Mayeur in Peoria, IL for an oil change and a diagnosis on the Dells flooding out.

They did the basic tune and oil change diagnosed the problem with the Dells and adjusted the float on the driver side and then tuned the carbs beautifully.

But more than that, Michael Benet the owner of the shop and also a site member and Vintage owner (see the Meissen Blue Speedy in this years SOC calendar) went over the car with a fine tooth comb, even fabricating a fix on a missing screw and nut in a rear tail light at no cost as well as rigging an overflow tube on the gas tank and routing it out.

The car runs flawlessly now.

I'm no mechanic and so I appreciate great work and superior service at a fair price.

Bonus is the always changing array of interesting and beautiful cars that grace the lot at K&M.

Thanks Michael, and likewise to Neil, Jon, Robby and to Stan Galat who dropped by to offer sage advice on the car.

Stan:

You called it right when you were there. It was the floats. No need to re-jet.

Took a couple of shots at it to get it right from what Michael told me, but it is like it is a different car. It just hauls!

He advanced the timing as well and it clearly is firing better and even sounds different.

Thanks again for taking time from your busy day to consult with Michael about the problem.
