The best thing about self driving cars is that, for them to work, the software company/car mfg will have to know your location, direction and velocity at all times, to within an few inches. That's 'merica!
The second best thing about the whole concept is that, for it to work at scale, the roads will have to be retro-fitted and/or redesigned with a sensor system that will communicate with all the cars, so instead of, say, stopping at stop signs and red lights at intersections, the software that is driving your car will communicate with the road management software that gets feeds from all the other cars so that you will speed through the intersection even while crossing traffic does the same, everything meshed-up nice and tidy.
Of course, for this to work, they will have to ban all human-piloted vehicles that don't have the necessary sensors and software.
That, friends, is where the real fun will begin.
