Entlich! (German for finally). The heart of the beast. The engine arrived yesterday in Indiana from California yesterday morning. One of the air cleaner elements was smashed during shipment which also bent the rods that hold on the top of the air cleaner. Nothing else was damaged and the new parts are already on the way. 2054 cc. Supposedly 150 hp and 145 ft-lbs. To quote Carey "74x94 with a "secret" grind cam and undisclosed intake port modifications." I can't wait to hear what it sounds like through the A1 Sidewinder.

Marty, that makes sense. That's south of Toledo. Good question about delivery. Contract was for "pre-spring" delivery but I've always kept 3-31 as the date in my head. I'm hoping before the end of Feb, though, so that I can get the registration process started. It was a "winter build" deal that I ordered on 8-28 knowing full well that I wouldn't get it until spring. PLUS I made a lot of changes to the build specs along the way. Carey has been very patient and accomodating. I really couldn't ask for more. I'll just be thrilled when it gets here. My friend Bill also lives in the Detroit area in Grosse Pointe. He's also considering joining the caravan.
What's cool about the engine you had made is that it has a 74mm crank. That means that no case clearancing needed to be done. It's only 5mm more that stock which equates to 2.5mm's closer to the head and 2.5mm's closer to the crank.

More than likely they used a .10" spacer beneath the cylinder and used "A" pistons or "non stroker" pistons.(.10" is the same as 2.5mm's) The spacer allows the piston to travel to the head and stop at the same place as a stock crank would stop the piston. Compression ratio's are then determined via cc'c of liquid in the head, the deck height, stroke and cylinder bore.

Did you think to have the engine cut for full flow at the time of the build???
OK, Now Tom,

Tell the guys who really designed the engine! Let's not forget who had the first one. The little thing dyno-tested out at 145 HP! Cost half as much as Jack's engine and 20 or so more HP, and a lot lighter! Also, Tom have Carey order you a set of CB's c-channel aluminum valve covers with logo.

Don't forget...you'll need a 5 speed! The Rancho tranny at 110 MPH makes you feel a need to shift to a higher gear! Weee!

Also, add a camber compensator, the rear bounces and becomes a little unstable when you decelerate at the above speed +.
