I've (unfortunately) got no pictures, but I've spent the last week in beautiful NW Florida with my P-town buddy calamity Bob (@Panhandle Bob).

I got to spend the last couple of days in Bob's garage, which has made the vacation complete. Bob had DPP (@DannyP) rebuild his carbs, and had acquired a CBP Magnaspark setup and electric fuel pump. We swapped the plugs, mounted, wired, and plumbed the fuel pump, swapped the distributor, coil, and wires, and put the quick-'n-dirty tune on the setup once we got it running. She pops a bit (an exhaust leak), and the idles are a bit fat, but it's a runner!

I wish we had a O2 sensor bung, my wideband, and a box of jets, but the car fired right off, idles smoothly, and accelerates smartly. I'd call it a mild success mechanically, and a home run on the "buds for life" front.

We drank diet Dr. Chemical, ate fantastic seafood (all Bob), and bonked our individual noggins in unrelated incidents. Blood was spilled, the vehicle itself threatened, and self-insults muttered - but we emerged (mostly) victorious. A good time was had by all.

Thanks to Danny P for the carb rebuild, my lovely wife for allowing me to have all this fun, and especially to Bob and Anna for being the ultimate hosts.

"BlazeCut®(TM) woulda' saved it!!"

No better friend than Stan.

When I first found the SOC and started my search for a car, Stan reached out to me from across the Illinois River, about 20 miles from my home, and mentored me through the quest. Who would have expected that there would be such a Speedster expert in neighboring Stanistan.

We have been friends for a decade plus now and I have been the primary beneficiary of our relationship.

Stan healed the car!

I handed him beleaguered old tools from my sad collection and ran to the local O'Reilly's for parts. Trying to learn and re-learn skills. There was trouble along the way, of my making (I mounted the electric fuel pump backwards) but Stan easily recognized each issue and offered the right diagnosis and fix.

Danny did a great on on the dual Dell 40's. Another valued friend.

I am grateful for their friendships and that of many others via the SOC.

@Stan Galat I didn't know you made house calls. I don't have carbs but I'm sure there is something that needs adjusting.

Well, I work for food, and there's a reason this was the "Bob and Tubby Magic Show". I needed to lose the winter 20 before we got here - at this point, I'm pretty sure there's some austerity in my near-term future.

I still owe you for the trip out to Carlisle in '19, but Bob and Anna set the bar you've gotta' clear very high. Very, very high.
