Here we are, Monday, April 27'th, 2009.

Only 17 days til Carlisle.

Haven't made up your mind yet?

You're gonna kick yourself for not coming!

We'll have close to 15 new Speedsters and Roadsters coming this year that have never been to Carlisle before.

We're also expecting 50 cars (both Speedsters and Spyders) to be showing on the field.

Bruce Meyers, father of the Meyers Manx and also father of the whole Kit Car Movement from way back in the mid-1960's will be there.

Shouldn't YOU be there, too???

Here you go:

The Hotel info is here: https://www.speedsterowners.com/forum/readmsg.asp?t=15763

Sign-up for Carlisle Tee-Shirts is here: https://www.speedsterowners.com/forum/readmsg.asp?t=16374

(You may have to partially cut-and-paste those links above to make them work)

Just look at all the fun the West Coasters had at Morro Bay!

Don't Miss OUT!!

Come to Carlisle! Bring your Hawaiian Shirts!

See your friends (or at least meet the people who have been posting incessantly on here for years....)

It'll be worth it just to meet Lane Anderson, but look who else is coming (just a partial list):

"Pineapple" Jim Ignacio
Steve and Angela Lane
"Doctor Clock" Merklin
The entire "Save the Green Coupe" Team
The Lovely Miss Teresa and "Hoopty"
Nolan Scott with his brand new SAS Cabriolet
Max Zimmer, columnist for Kit Car Builder Magazine
Jim Youngs, Publisher of Kit Car Builder Magazine
Henry Reisner, President of Intermeccanica
Carey and Kevin Hines of Special Edition (the Beck folks)
John Weyand and his newly finished Street beast, "Hunny"
Al Shapiro and his "Ruby" (a must-see for all you "old timers" on here)
The entire Carlisle High School Marching Band

And who's going to take home the coveted "Longest Distance Driven" award this year??

Jack Crosby took it home last year, having driven from Little Rock Arkansas, but he faces stiff competition from the central plains and also from deep in the swamps of Florida.

An what about the "Longest Distance Trailered??" I may finally have a chance of winning this, since I'm trailering in from the marshes of South Carolina, but ya nevah know! Dusty and the Lovely Miss Sharon may just scoop it again!!

Come to Carlisle, You'll never hear a better Boston accent than mine!!

Wow. I'm actually so psyched that I'm having trouble concentrating at work.

John, do a good detailing on the Hunny before you leave, including a good thick coat of wax. That'll help the bug juice come off more easily. I can usually get by with using those quick detailing products each morning, foregoing the need for a wash/wax/detail on site. That gives me more time for egg sammiches!

TO ANYONE IN THE EAST COAST AREA WHO HASN'T MADE PLANS YET: You will be missing the best Speedster event possible if you don't come. The people, place, and events will provide you with memories that will last a long time, and you will make friends who will be with you for years. It's not too late. C'MON TO CARLISLE!
I can't believe this is the first year that a car I own is ready and under a car cover.
Come to think of it, it's the first time I've owned the same speedster for almost year now!
Word has it that Tom Buchannon from WV has a very unique resto'd IM
...wait till you see this one !
Four days of speedsters, sun, good friends, great food & grog, grog and more grog :) ~Alan
Oh, she'll fire up. Probably won't have to do any tuning, either.
A little preventive maintenance wouldn't hurt, but the Hoopty has spent her first winter ever in a garage.
I'm betting she's ready to roll. Standard stuff applies, though. Pressures, et cetera.
The oil filter sandwich plate that allows for the multi-pass cooler needs to be installed, but the hoses and such are still there, just disconnected. The sandwich plate is in out atrium, on a shelf.
It's probably the only thing I'd add before the Big Show.
Thanks for the help.
