Don't sweat it, they stopped manufacturing the 327 Chevy engine and '66 Mustang AGES ago, and all the stuff's still around to rebuild 'em. I think that they just repopped an all steel Camaro body, and I know that they offer repro MGB shells.
For the VW engine, they already make aluminum blocks, repro heads, aftermarket pistons and barrels, non-VW camshafts and cranks, aftermarket flywheels and bearings, alumunum degree pulleys, remanufactured alternators, 009 style distributors, aftermarket ignitions and coils. Empi carbs and manifolds along with Weber and fuel injection. Etc., etc.
The chassis and suspension include full tub frames, CB spindles, aftermarket rotors and calipers, aluminum beams, racing shocks, TRW steering boxes SwayWay axles, proprietary transaxles, etc., etc.
And the body is just a dune buggy with a different shape and a few trim pieces from the Porsche aftermarket.
There's 5% 356, and about 15% VW in the whole car and most of THAT is the title and VIN. By the time they're out of parts, you'll already be dead, Dude.
Just enjoy the ride . . .
