Some may already know. The Great Race is a rally of sorts that runs old open wheel racers over several hundred miles through hill and dale. This year they start in Owensboro KY on 6/22 and end up in Gardiner, ME on 6/30. A few years ago, some SOCers hooked up with the show as it passed through PA. That was pretty cool. This year, like next week, the race comes through VA and PA en-route to Maine. On Tuesday 6/25, there will be an overnight stop in Gettysburg, after having stopped for lunch in Purcellville VA. Looks like the run from VA to Gettysburg goes up US 15. I may try to intercept for the lunch stop, at a local winery, in VA. For sure I will attend the evening gathering set for around 4:30 or so at Gateway Gettysburg. Further details at GREATRACE.com. Any local east coasters interested?

Any takers??
Kelly.... Well worth the trip to go see them, they came through Chambersburg PA a number of years ago stopping for a couple of hours for a lunch break. They are doing the same next Monday near me in Morgantown, West Virginia .
They're going to stop in Montgomery about ten minutes from my house on the 27th. I may venture over in the Spyder.
They came through here a number of years ago, and I went there with Mike Lempert to take some photos. Well worth the trip.
They stop overnight on the 27’th in Providence, RI, and we’ll be there to see them arrive. Hadn't thought about maybe catching them at their lunch stop in Connecticut, but that might be an option, too. I’ll have to find their posted route and maybe camp out along the way after they leave Providence.
