Five Cent Racing will be making their Grand and Glorious return to the Hilton Head Island Classic Automotive Concours and Shrimp-Hush-Puppy Fry, this coming November 5-6, 2016.
FCR will not be bringing a car this year, but will be arriving ahead of time to partake of the "races" over on Hutchins Island (On the disputed and ever-shifting "South Carolina Side" of the Savannah river, spitting distance from Savannah, Georgia). We may be driving a purloined car from the Beaufort Classic Car and Truck Club if someone needs another driver, but that aspect of the trip will have to be worked out - stay tuned. One time we drove a cherry-red 1962 Corvette named "Christine" that rode worse then my F250 pickup.
Anyway, the entire weeks schedule, including the "Savannah Speed Classic" (actually held in South Carolina, NOT Savannah, GA), the Aero show at HHI International Airport (accepting Trans-Gulf-Stream foreign flights from the Northern Abacoa Islands), the wooden boat show at the Port Royal Marina (on HHI, not over near Beaufort) and even the "Cars and Cigars" night (for all you ash-droppers out there) can be perused here:

FCR will also be visiting some of our old haunts prior to the HHICAC&SHPF, like the "Shrimp Shack" (for shrimp burgers) and "Gullah Grub" on St. Helena island (both visited by Anthony Bourdain), "Traditions" on Parris Island Recruit Training Center and "Berto's Tex-Mex" in Habersham Village (You can order off-menu, in Spanish, if yours is that good - don't forget your Horchata), with lunch thrown in sometime at the "Athenian Gardens" Greek place in Port Royal ("Mama! Spanicopita for TWO and a Souvlaki Platter!") - All stellar, 5-star eateries and well worth your trip all by themselves.
Start making your plans now, as hotels fill up around Hilton Head Island quickly for the HHICAC&SHPF (no kidding). I've heard that the Disney Resort on HHI still has a few rooms left, but hurry. There are a lot of resorts on HHI, and more people are going to the HHICAC&SHPR every year so they're beginning to sell out early. It's not Amelia Island, yet, but getting there.
