Looks excellent, Chris. What engine did you order ?
Looks great, Chris. You're getting a very solid, well constructed car that should be a hell of a lot of fun to drive.

I went with a Subi 2.5 motor. It will be installed early next week.... Hoping it ships late next week so I can be sitting in it by the end of the month! Thanks Guys!
VERY cool, Chris! You might have to hit the Quaaludes to stem the extreme anxiety of IM anticipation!
See ya in Carlisle buddy!
Chris, is the Subie engine new, used, or rebuilt? What tranny?
Anyone who references Quaaludes has true perspective!!!! Respect to both the IM, Chris, and musbjim....(my chiffon white IM roadster is supposed to appear this week----quaaludes, or not)
Ron, the engine is a rebuilt Subi from Colorado Core Rebuilders... Totally rebuilt. I had my mechanic friend have a long conversation with the folks there as well as Henry and he was very confident in the motor that I am getting... That makes me very confident as well.....It's a 3.44 transaxle... CCR offers a 3 year warrantee on the motor which I thought was a nice surprise as well.... Tom,although I am only a week or two behind you, Jim is right the anticipation is especially high right now and I am very jealous...Marty, please send me some of those famous home made Limoncello shots you make........Tom Can you post some pics of your build?.... Thanks
I think this is a link to the Subaru engine re-manufacturer referred to above:
http://www.ccrengines.com/id15.html
(this engine indicated as California approved-$3,200 includes shipping...not too bad IMO-not sure if there is a core charge)
That is the correct link, Scott. If you don't supply them with a core there will be a core charge. Can't remember how much. These rebuilders are very easy to get along with, have very good prices and have a good reputation. I'll be putting in one of their engines this coming winter...but simplified again with a single Weber mid mount 32/36 carb with Megajolt ignition.
Marty, I stopped at Venuti's house once to see his IM. He knows his stuff and is a great guy! So looks like we will all have very similar Subi's under the hood....Nice to hear you are having great luck with the CCR motor.... I am dying to see this car in my garage......
And I'm dying to see your car at Carlisle. You guys have started a real nice trend within the group.
Dave, are you really gona be at Carlisle? Ottawa Canada?
Why so surprised? Ottawa is closer than Detroit, Chicago, Arkansas, etc.
We're planning to attend, Chris. All the hotel and activitiy stuff is booked. The only thing different this year is that I'm crazy busy at home so we'll take the direct route to get there. Last year we got there via Key West and the year before we drove in from Sacramento.
Come to think of it, Nolan Scott will likely get the long distance driven award this year. I think his route is about 1,200 miles direct and he tends to wander a bit joining others along the route. Jack Crosby will likely be a close second.
Nice Dave, I look forward to meeting you and all the other SOC'ers.... The thought of registration has crept into my head lately.... I am hopefully going to have all my ducks in a row by then so it is smooth sailing to Carlisle.... My insurance guy is confident that he knows exactly what to do so I feel cautiously optimistic.....
