It's actually a good time to sell a used car. Many people can't afford a new car, so they're looking for a used vehicle. Guys on my Miata forum are complaining that the prices of used 2006/2008 MX5's are holding steady. Unfortunately, this does not apply to specialty vehicles, like speedsters.
Bob - was it really cash - as in hundred dollar bills maybe? Might be interesting to have it dusted for cocaine residue?

I got paid cash for a boat many years ago. Buyer handed me seventy five one hundred dollar bills. Afterwards, darling wife and I threw them around just for fun. Neither of us ever carry more than $100 cash. Some people carry a big role. Hard to relate.
Bob--congrats on the sale. In selling businesses I find that many sellers think only of the money and forget that getting it DONE is also an objective. Of all the businesses that ever go on the market only 20% ever sell, and one reason is that all a seller thinks of is top dollar. (The #1 reason is poor or no financials and a seller can't answer the simple question, "What does the business make?"
So, if you got an ok price plus you gor 'er done, you did good.

Ebay-this is another good way to sell stuff. Last year I sold 4 banjos for about $17,000 total. The last two were sold with no minimum and I couldn't believe the action on these auctions compared to the first two with minimums. More bids and a better seling price. If I were to sell something again on Ebay I would go the "no minimum" route. Seems scarey I know but it did work well for me. (I did have a back up plan in case the biddng only reached $10. though!)

Anyway--glad your deal is done and hope you get another Speedster ASAP.
